Today is also the day where we are launching our new monthly challenge over at the Creative Craft World Challenge Blog – A Mini Challenge!

We challenge you to make something small – it could be a card, a layout, a minibook, anything so long as it is smaller than 12×12. You don’t have to use the mini kit to enter, and you can link your project up on the challenge blog to be in with a chance of winning a great prize.

This month’s mini kit uses the Yours Truly collection from Echo Park along with plenty of co-ordinating cardstock, ribbons, buttons and a couple of gorgeous doilies. I managed to make 4 cards from mine and still have a little bit left over

The only extra’s I added were a few stamps, stickles, shimmer mist and of course I used my Cameo too!

Can’t wait to see what you all come up with…

 Bunting, banners, pennants and flags

Ooh, I do love a nice bit of bunting, lol, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to use this paper from one of my Kraft Funday 6×6 pads that I got for Christmas. The flags are from a Waltzingmouse stamp set (Bitty Banners), stamped in white chalk ink on kraft card and then attached to the seam binding with little staples.

The theme for this month is SWEET THINGS so I thought I would use a stamp from the Rescue Remedies set to make this “any occasion” card.

I cut the fancy envelope on my Cameo, using a design from the Silhouette store and a little die cut and flower for the closer.

I paired the stamp up with some papers from My Minds Eye – A Beautiful Life 6×6 collection, along with another couple of die cuts, a few flowers and some twine.

I got my new Christmas stash out again this week and used more papers from my October Afternoon Schoolhouse pad, I thought they fitted the bill for the primary colours! I used the Cameo to cut a variety of different shapes and layered them up, and then stamped a sentiment directly onto an old 7 Gypsies journalling spot. I’m not sure I can really claim for a handmade embellishment though! Still, never mind – stash has been used, cards have been made. It’s all good

PS. Scuse the slightly less than amazing photo – couldn’t be bothered going all the way down 2 flights of stairs to retrieve the big camera so just used the iPhone instead!

I have used some of my lovely new Christmas stash – Kraft Funday Everyday Fun 6×6 pad and October Afternoon Schoolhouse 8×8 pad so I think that covers the “new” part of the prompt! I then used some other bits and pieces from the scraps box to finish off, along with a scalloped circle die cut just to hit the other two prompts too!

Now I’m off to try and find some inspiration for my Journal your Christmas / December Daily album. I just can’t seem to get going, the pictures in my head are not translating well to the paper and card stock!

So today is the last day of our Christmas Countdown and I have this Christmas wall hanging to show you. Unfortunately the picture doesn’t really convey the level of glitter to this project but trust me, it’s there

I was inspired by some projects I saw on Pinterest for this one – if  you have never visited Pinterest then it’s a great way to spend half an hour (or much, much longer if you are not careful!).

I used a couple of different kinds of glittery Thickers for the Merry Christmas sentiment on the top part of the banner, and used a die cut banner as a background for “Merry”. The rosettes were cut from the Tim Holtz rosette dies and covered with lashings of Crystal Ice Stickles.

The die cuts on the  bottom half were all cut using the Silhouette Cameo – and I found this lovely little Father Christmas from a pack of K&Co diecuts I bought a few years back which just finished it off nicely. Lots of glitter and sparkly gems on here too!

I used some thick rustic twine to attach the two parts of the wall hanging together and make a loop for the top to hang on the wall. It looks so shiny and pretty when the light catches it – although I think I will need to hang it out of reach of the two year old magpie that lives in this house (“Mummy! Shiny!”)
